Sets up and operates Amada Press Brakes, to bend, straighten, and form metal plates, sheets and structural shapes according to prints and specifications.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Reads and interprets engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine production methods, and sequence operation. x

Completes First Piece Inspection sheet. x

Positions work piece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades manually or using hoist. x

Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes. x

Inspects or measures work using rule, gauges, and templates. x

(May) Help with the training of new machine operators. x

Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities. x

Inspects and measures parts to maintain statistical process control charts. x

Completes Product Identification Tags. x

Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe working environment.

OTHER DUTIES: x (May) Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. x

Perform any other temporary or permanent assignment that may be necessary. x

Responsible for any normal cleaning that may be necessary in the work environment (pick up ear plugs and glasses, etc. .…).

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Training and Experience: 3 years of Amada experience.

Must be able to work well with others, read drawings, follow process flow charts, inspect to requirements, multi-task oriented, and can take directions from supervisor(s). Must have own tools, able to do own setups and be proficient in print reading.

Behavioral Requirements: A team player attitude, open minded, can give as well as take suggestions, aggressive work behavior and good attitude toward Ambox.

Physical Demands: The employee is required to: x stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. x exert 30 to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or x exert 15 to 30 lbs of force frequently, and/or x exert up to 15 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
